So I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is BH contractions or not. Can someone elaborate more on what they're supposed to feel like? Right now I've got a feeling of tightness and pain in my lower abdominal area.
Re: ? Re: Braxton Hicks
For me they felt a little like menstrual cramps. As I got further along[around 30 weeks or so] they continued to feel like cramps, but with a more tightening feeling around my belly. I remember hearing that if you can talk and move around like normal when they happen, then they're definitely BH.
If they're happening more than 4 in an hour or you're simply just concerned definitely call the dr. and they can set you up with a non-stress test to monitor contractions and baby's HB.
For me, BH felt like a kind of dull ache that came and went right across the lower abdomen. It was sort of like a menstrual cramp, and definitely uncomfortable!
But when it was labor, it just feels totally different --at least it did for me. The diff between BH contractions and the real thing was that labor made me feel like I wanted to lie down and throw up, and you think "woah, this is totally not right!"
Bh just made me crabby...
Sounds like what I've experienced so far. Tightening/cramping in lower abdomen, sometimes menstrual like cramps in my back. I've gotten them when I've overdone activities. Also make sure you're hydrated, if you aren't drinking enough water, that can bring them on.
