The negativity (not from nesties please don't think I'm flaming anyone!!!) about our new president.
I am getting racist "joke" text messages about it already!! Not to mention my "friends" commenting on my pictures in a negative way.
The kicker is....the offenders IRL of which is speak....NONE OF THEM VOTED!!
What right do you have to talk sh$t if you didn't even bother to make your opinion known BEFORE he was elected president!!
But the worst part, I think. Is it's freaking 2009 people!!! What are we going to see people as people and not their color!!!!!!!!
Regardless of my political views, I think the man should be given a chance before insulted and if he fails as president, fine insult away....but make it have NOTHING to do w/ his race!!!!
AHHHHHHH!!!!
Vent over. Sorry, I had to get that out....
Re: I am so sick of.....
The media has kinda set him up though. Almost every reporter covering was black, every person they spoke to in reports were black, and the performers at the celebrations were black. When there is so much attention put on anything, you get backlash. It would sadly be the same if it was Hillary Clinton and everything was about women. Plus it has never really been ok to tease about Obama, which encourages more of the nasty 'underground' jokes.
I hate when non voters get nasty about political figures. If you care so much - vote! If not, shut up and deal with it.
I have to say, I love your responses! They really make me think!!
You're right, color is what made this election such a big deal, as it would have been gender w/ Hilary Clinton.
So I guess I contradict myself when I say I wish we wouldn't look at color/gender.
I guess I should say, I hate the stereotypes that go w/ a persons color--or gender for that matter.

I love when people assume you share their views. Be it political or otherwise.
I'd blow a gasket if someone sent me a racist forward.
