Ideas for dh's 40th birthday???
Hi ladies -
DH's 40th birthday is in a few weeks! I got him 2 elaborate gifts but I still would like to do something special for him. Turning 40 is a big deal
)
I thought about having a few friends join us for dinner or have a small surprise gtg at our house (appetizers and drinks). I just don't know if I could pull it off without him finding out. I just know I want to surprise him and make him feel extra special...
Any suggestions?

Kurt just joined the 40 crowd in Dec! I also had a tough time with this one... here is what i did.
Told him that my parents really wanted to take him to breakfast on his birthday (it fell on a saturday). When we got to the breakfast place - all of his best friends were there with bloody marys and mimosas... at breakfast i surprised him by telling him that i rented a harley for him and for my dad, and all of the boys spent the day on a ride. (i had all of his riding gear packed in a box and wrapped like a gift so he didn't suspect anything.)
the breakfast thing worked out great for us because the bday was on a weekend - and he never suspected that our lazy friends would get up that early... he was really surprised!
I'd love to do breakfast with friends & family. But everyone's lives are so busy... He's quiet & a stay at home kinda guy. Romantic won't happen because Marley will be sitting there screaming & laughing the whole time. haha
