Anyone have a zoo membership?

DH and I were planning on getting one for our son when we move there next month.

Are the memberships really worth it?

Re: Anyone have a zoo membership?

  • I *totally* think it's worth it if you'll actually use it.  The zoo is so neat to walk around in and it's nice not to do it all in one day.  Oh, and your son won't need one til he's three.
  • I don't have one but will definitely get one when I have children.  I think it is totally worth it.  The zoo is great.

  • My sister did and I think it's great if you have kids! I think you also get a membership to the Wild Animal Park, which I think I like even better than the zoo! (and free parking w/ membership there!)

  • I?definitely?recommend a zoo membership. ?If you are going to have company and DH might not always be going with you, I would recommend the SIngle Diamond Club membership. ?It allows you and a guest to get into the zoo instead of having the second person named on a card of their own. ?It is a little more expensive than a regular membership, but does include free parking at the Wild Animal Park.

  • We just ordered ours! We get 2 passes for $79. You also get 2 free passes, and discount tickets. I can't wait! We can ride our bikes to the zoo, so we figured it was a good idea to get it for weekends when we just want to walk around. Plus we end up going a lot when we have visitors from NJ and so we ended up paying a lot last year!

If you would go to the Wild Animal park a lot it may be worth it to upgrade to the DIamond Club since you get free parking (and I think its $9 a day to park there). We didn't b/c we probably won't get there...or if we do it would be once!

  • We got one too and mostly for the free passes for visitors since we'll be having them in April. I love the zoo, but the Wild Animal Park is not that great. I was expecting something similar to what they had in Texas, where they give you a bag of food, and you stay in your car and hand feed the zebras, giraffes, etc.  This is more like a glorifed zoo than anything. If you go to the zoo, no need to go to the Wild Animal Park.  If you do, bring binoculars if you want to actually see the animals.
