Huh.
I guess he's trying to quit, but I didn't know he smoked.

I remember hearing something like that, too. I think I heard that he promised his wife he would quit if he won the primary. Of course if he's still smoking, I guess he never did quit.

Wow, this is a heck of a time to pick to try to quit smoking. I can't even imagine what it would be like to try to quit when you've just assumed what is probably the most stressful job in the world. Good for him. I hope he's able to do it
I knew this awhile ago, but I heard yesterday that he'd be renewing his efforts to quit. Supposedly, he's managed to cut back quite a bit, but was still smoking occasionally. The White House has a no-smoking policy, so that ought to be an insentive.
And apparently, I listen to way too much NPR.
