Poll: Are you an Introvert or Extrovert?

Just wondering what kind of people are on message boards.  And for the introverts who might not otherwise participated, we'll use the anonymous poll.[Poll]

I voted introvert, but I've been told I come off extroverted. I took one of those personality tests at my old job that confirmed it. I'm was an "Introverted Thinking Something or Other".

Can I answer that I could go either way depending on the situation?  I'm very outgoing when I'm in a situation where I'm comfortable with most the people there. If a new person comes along, I have no problem striking up a conversation.  In a room full of strangers where most people don't know each other, I can be pretty extroverted as long as I'm in a good mood.  Even in a one on one situation with a stranger I do okay as long as I can think of something to say and the other person has made eye contact or smiled or something.  I just get really shy when other people around me know each other and I don't know anyone.  I can't think of anything to say and I feel awkward and out of place. I think that's part of the reason why I don't post on any other boards or go to the big GTGs.  I hate to be the new girl

Good to know it's not just me!  I could never decide if that makes me an introvert or an extrovert.  I still have no idea.  I think I need to find one of the personality inventories and see what it tells me.

I'm always on the border between the two, but on the introvert side.  DH is WAY over on the introvert end.

When I was young, I was pretty outgoing until I started transferring schools every couple of years.  Then I got the whole "new girl" complex and I never really got over it.  I think I've lost a lot of my shyness over the years, but I'm still on the fence with the introvert, extrovert thing.  DH is definitely an extrovert and I think that's helped me come out of my shell a lot.

Me too me too! i had a class that we tested whether we were intro or extra along with a lot of other things. Now I'm not WAY introverted, but like all of you, it depends on the situation. I too have only appeared at one GTG because it seemed everyone was already acquainted from previous GTG and I left out. I remember talking to Jen, but I don't remember who the other two girls that were at my end of the table. I tried to go back and recall, but never did figure it out.
