Does anyone know anything about this?

I got this in an email today:

Today all cell phone numbers are being released to
telemarketers.  You will pay for calls from them. To avoid
this inconvenience, call 1-888-382-1222 from your cell phone
to add it to the Do Not Call List.

Im afraid if I call it , i will actually be GIVING my number to someone ya know.

Re: Does anyone know anything about this?

  • Read this article... it is from the FCC official website.....
  • I registered my numbers awhile ago on the website,  they'll send you a confirmation by email.

Be warned though that charities,  political groups,  and places that can claim a legit business connection can get around the ban.  If they call you have to tell them that your number must be taken off their list.  I really wonder though how some of these places got my cell,  especially the 'charity' one,  I make a point to keep it hidden.

  • I've been getting strange numbers calling my cell phone in the last couple of weeks.  I just put my home and cell on the do not call list.  I'm glad I read this post, I hope it works.
