1st Anniversary gifts?
I am fresh out of ideas for a gift for DH for our anniversary. Any suggestions? I want it to be something special since it's our first, but not too cheesy or something he won't use. Thanks

For our first anniversary, I did a cheesy gift... The modern 1st anni gift is clocks and since I'd already bought him 3 watches while we were dating, he didn't want anymore. For paper, I gave him a little chest for us to drop little sweet notes in to each other anytime we want. Then we'll read them on our 5th anni. Does he have a need to write 'Thank You' notes alot? If so, you could get him some really cool note cards with his name on them. My DH loves to have them and uses them a lot for work. What's a favorite thing he loves to do but never has time for, or something he loves and hasn't done in a while? For DH it's go-carting. We always do it in Gatlinburg for our anniversary. For his birthday I'm surprising him with a trip to Atlanta and a day at a professional go-carting place. Hmm, I can't think of anything else...
We stuck with the paper gift for our first anniversary. We bought our first house a month before our 1st anniversary so I bought him this huge handy homeowners guide...it tells you how to fix anything or do any improvements you can think of. He got me HP 7 (I have the entire collection) since it came out like 30 days after our anniversary that year. I know not really romantic but since we had just bought our first house we didn't go over the top
You could do lots of things...tickets to events, a scapbook of your first year as husband and wife, hmmm I'm blanking right now...Leelee had some great ideas too...hopefully everyone else can give you some good ideas as well

this is what i did too
i love it...it hangs over our bed...
we were fresh out of money on our anniv since i was between jobs....so we decided to write a sweet letter to one another..it served as our paper...and somewhat of a tradition that we plan to continue on every anniv. in the future, it'll probably be the letter + something else depending on our finances...
i'm very sentimental and love keeping journals, so i think it's a sweet thing to have
