Barrington anyone?
Does anyone live in Barrington or close to it? If so how do you like it. It's one of the towns my DH and I are considering?

I do.....I like it. Depending on where in Barrington makes all the difference. We live closer to Northwood than Calef's, which makes a trip out to the store a 20-30min jaunt. I've gotten used to it, so it doesn't really bother me anymore. I just have to be sure I REALLY need to go out.
It's nice though b/c it is centrally located to a lot of places. We are 30min from Portsmouth, 25min from Concord, 45min from Manchester. The town itself doesn't have much to it. There's Calef's corner, and the Christmas Dove, and then there's the police and fire station and the town hall. And of course the schools. Calef's has a lot of events during the summer, and last summer the Christmas Dove put on a summer concert series which I'm hoping to catch this year.
I think the schools in general are good, but I don't know from first-hand experience yet. Overall, we don't really spend a lot of time in Barrington itself, mainly b/c other towns are so close by and usually have some goings-on, especially during the summer.

thanks for the info. Sounds like we'll be on the other side of Barrington, we're close to Calef's corner. Where do you do your grocery shopping? We drove around Barrington yesterday and it seems to be a nice quiet town and I like that it's close to many other towns.
By the way your little one is sooooooo cute! Have you joined any playgroups or anything in Barrington? I'd love to meet other moms in the area. I'm due with my 1st this spring!

I haven't found any playgroups in the area, but I tend to hang out with friends. We could always get together if you wanted too! They do have this thing at the town gym called rumpus room for 0-5y/o but I have yet to go. I will probably try it out before this winter is over though!! Where are you planning to give birth? I know WDH has a new mommies group that can often lead to gtg's outside of the group with other moms. I never got into going to it though.
We usually do our shopping at either the Market Basket in Lee or at Hannaford in Rochester or Northwood (depending on where we are going that day).
