I love the new siggy.
Did you finish all the books yet?
Re: **mia**
Oh yes I finished. Then read MS along side my reread of Twi. Now I'm biased and can't seem to get into anything else to read. My sis and I were actually talking about this yesterday ( got her hooked to by the time I finished Twi and handed it off to her at the beginning of December).
I haven't tried Anne Rice. The Hobbit - couldn't get past chapter 1. Someone on the Twilight board suggested the Sookie Stackhouse books and another said author Linda Lael Miller.
What are you reading at the moment?
Butting in....
I started checking out the Young Adult section at the library to find some fun reading stuff. I found that I'm more likely to pick up a fun quick read and get through it than I was to read my usual stuff. It also helps me find books to recommend for Michaela as she's way ahead of her peers but still to young for a lot of subject matter.
I have read the Sookie Stackhouse books and they're pretty good. I didn't care for the 1st and 2nd book too much but kept reading them out of boredom and loved the series from book 3 on.
I may start re-reading the Anne Rice, VC Andrews, and Stephen King books. It's been a long time since I read them and I always enjoyed them.
Funny you mention the Sookie Stackhouse books, I am reading book 5 right now. They are the ones that TrueBlood on HBO are based on.
The books are good but very different from Twilight. And I agree with Jenn, so far book 3 is my favorite.
Once I finish those, somene had mentioned to me about a series called "Vampire Academy". I might check that out or read something in a different genre. I have books by the author of the Alchemist that are on my must read list too.
I loved VC Andrews when I was a tweenie/teenager! What a great idea!
Marina - since you too are watching the True Blood Series, I was talking to my sis about that. She's wondering if reading the books spoils watching the TV show. What are you thoughts?
Thanks for the suggestions! I'm gonna have to hit up the young adult section to re-start myself.
Yes and no.
The show is based on the books. that being said.. there are some thing that are different and some that are the same and some that are more exaggerated. As for basic plot, yes.. the same. But still fun to read and see it. No different than reading twilight then watching the movie.
