Anyone up for Disneyland's Half Marathon?
I've already set a goal to do a half marathon in November (and beat my last time) but this looks even better. The entry fee is a little high (IMO) at $120 but how fun would it be if we put a LA Nestie team together )

Disneyland? Half Marathon WeekendFriday, September 4 - Sunday, September 6, 2009?
Chase your Dreams at the Happiest Race on Earth! You will run through Sleeping Beauty's castle, through beautiful Anaheim, California and high five your favorite Disney Characters. There's a little magic around every corner for the whole family!?
Re: Anyone up for Disneyland's Half Marathon?
realistically - how much time is involved in training for something like this.
(i am not a runner at ALL... but running a marathon or even half marathon in my lifetime is secretly always something that i have wanted to achieve)
First of all. I don't work out. EVER! If I can do it, you ladies can do it??
Last time, I started training in August (3 months prior to event) and honestly only trained half-a$$ (because I hate to exercise).
I also walk, not run. I can do a mean power walk. LOL
?So if anyone wants to "walk" it with me, let me know!??
Butting in post..
I usually post on the OC boards, but I saw this post and thought I'd chime in. I ran the Disneyland half this past year. It was tons of fun. I'm not a runner at all and it's wasn't too bad. I would try to run 1-3 times during the week and another on the weekend for a long run. I worked my way up to 10 miles before the half marathon and felt prepared enough to finish strong. If you ever thought about doing something like this I would reccomend doing the Disney one. The parks are full of characters in full costume willing to pose with runners. There are a ton of marching bands and such that come out to support the runners. IMO there were a lot of distractions that took away from just how long the course was.
Edited for dup post :-(
