Re: Madison TN residents
Madison is a bit sketchy in places. BUT if you want to be on that side of town, Goodlettsville is actually a nice little town. It's basically just across the road from Madison, so you're still very close to a mall and all the shopping and chain restaurants. Housing prices (both rent or purchase) are about the same as Madison, but the area is just a little less shady. Hendersonville is also nice and in that same part of town.
One thing to keep in mind though, the rush hour traffic is horrendous from that part of town into the city. So if you're planning on working in the city, you might want to look south or west of Nashville itself.
Hope that helps!
thanks ladies...
we are know looking into Brentwood, Cane Ridge/Antioch areas....
Brentwood, yes.
Antioch, NO
Not sure what Cane Ridge is....
I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Antioch. You do need to do your homework about the neighborhood if you are looking to buy in that area. Some parts are sketchy at best. I wouldn't rent an apartment in the area as the crime tends to occur in the apartment complexes themselves. But there are other parts that are actually rather nice for affordably priced houses (less than $160K). And it is remarkably multiracial and multicultural (I see that as a big plus).
Cane Ridge has some very rural-esque areas with a lot of property. Higher priced stuff though.
From someone that actually lives just spittin' distance from Antioch.
I agree. There are some areas of Antioch that are very nice.
On this particular board you will find there are several different views on certain areas. Personally I would not live in Williamson County, but it is a nice area. I would tend to lean toward north of Nashville, but their are girls who would not. If I were in your shoes I would come and visit several times before jumping into something. GL
Just out of curiosity, why wouldn't you live in Williamson Co? I don't, but would love to. They have the best schools in the state and everything is really nice.
