(#) Saturday Check-in

No breaks on the weekends!! Stick out tongue

How's it going?  Motivated?  Not motivated?  How are you feeling?

I'm feeling great.  I had to get up early to volunteer so I didn't skip breakfast (like I usually do on the weekends), and then had lunch with friends.  Now DH and I are at home, going to eat in, and I plan to work out after dinner.

B: Banana Bread Weight Control Oatmeal

L: Vegan burrito bol at Chipotle

D: Enchiladas

Yay!  Did you get them at Old Navy?  They're having a sale!

  • Yesterday was another sucky day for me.  It rained most of the day, so I couldn't do my run.  I drank too much at happy hour (damn that very good free wine).  I managed to redeem myself at dinner, when I ordered a very light seafood soup at the Vietnamese restaurant, and only ate half of it.

This morning though I did get up to do my run.  I had a light breakfast, since it was 10am by the time I got back.  Ate the rest of my soup (and a leftover cupcake) for lunch.  I just took some butternut squash soup out of the freezer for dinner.

I'm going to try to run again tomorrow.  And no more wine for me this weekend.

  • The weekend is actually going rather well. Finished up week 3 of C25K this morning but will probably repeat it one last time tomorrow before I move on to week 4. I am enjoying the mythical "runner's high" that I'd heard about ... have been feeling kind of low this week, but always feel better after a workout.

Have a party tonight and will be drinking in moderation so as not to waste my entire day tomorrow.

    Good to know!

  • I forgot to AW!  I lost 2.8 lbs this week!  Thanks for letting me share, I'm really excited.

I lost 33 lbs from July to October, then I stopped being completely awesome, and by Christmas had gained back 6.5 lbs.  Now I'm almost back to the original 33 lbs gone (I'm at 31.4 right now).

  • I have not been doing check ins because there was so much going on that I just wasn't following any type of diet. With my birthday this month I got taken out to dinner by DH and a few lunches by DS, friends & cousins. Too many desserts. And it is King Cake season - from Jan 6th until Mardi Gras. That's a New Orleans thing. I do worse during Mardi Gras season because of king cakes than I do during the Christmas holidays!!!

Oh and I have to blame my PSS Jennie for my Ben & Jerry's ice cream recipe book! I made their Heath Crunch ice cream last weekend and having been eating it all week!  I am kidding about blaming her - I asked for the book but of course I had to try it!

I started off so well with losing a couple of pounds. Those are back on plus 3 more. UGH!  I have got to get back on track but I am so not motivated.

  • Last night I ate a little more than I intended to when we had our friends over, but I only had 2 cocktails and dinner was overall very nutritious. Bonus was that our friend who brought dessert brought sherbet (it fit with the dinner's theme), so I wasn't tempted by a heavy dessert.

I haven't worked out today, and I don't think I will tonight, either. But I am going to go swimming tomorrow and try to really get things going regarding exercise this next week. I've spent the last couple of weeks getting my food on track, and this past week I was in a weird funk. So now it's time to kick my activity into gear!

    B: granola, yogurt, berries

L: veggie fajita with beans & cheese

    S: banana

D: homemade Greek meatballs, roasted Greek potatoes, and roasted eggplant. I am altering the meatball and potato recipes to reduce the oil because they both call for a TON of it.
