Did anyone watch Miss America?

I wasn't happy with the outcome but it was a good show. They have tried to jazz it up some in recent years and it's more current and upbeat now. I do agree with a post I saw on Facebook that the swimsuit competition was really "out there" lol.   I have a good friend whose daughter won a Miss Georgia prelim and will compete this summer for Miss Georgia. Her friend, the current Miss Georgia, was first runner up and she did a great job. Anyway...just curious if anyone saw it and what you thought.

  • No, i didn't even know it was coming on! :-(
  • I watched part of the talent portion. I turned it because I wasn't very impressed.

  • My little cousin had competed in Miss Alabama for the past few years.  The Miss Alabama pageant paid for her and a few other girls that won pageants in the area to go to Las Vegas...so I watched just hoping I would see her in one of the shots of the audience..lol!!

The pageant was just "ok".  I do have to agree with Lilcrableg's post on facebook...the swimsuit competition has gotten a little more revealing over the past few years!

  • Just watched it last night (had it Tivo'ed).  Anyway, yeah, I was really suprised with who won.  I mean, she was a really pretty girl, but she just did not stand out to me at all.  Of course, I was pulling for Alabama and was really disappointed that she didn't make it further.  I also really like Georgia alot.  I thought Florida was stunningly beautiful.  When it got down to the final 3, I really thought it would be the woman in the fitted black dress with the short hair...can't remember what state she was.  I hate Indiana's dress...looked like a wedding gown gone wrong!
  • Hehehe... yes, I was the one that compared the swimsuit competition to the Hooters Swimsuit Pageant.  Seriously, Miss Arkansas needed to tone that down!  We're not pussycat dolls here...

And I just have to say this about Miss Florida... I imagine there are a ton of talented, intelligent girls from Florida that can do a lot more than jazz dance with a frying pan.  I can't believe she made it to a national level of competition by dancing with a skillet.
