A few days in Williamsburg?

Hi...just popping in with a few questions...

We'll be in DC for a week this Spring. Is Williamsburg worth a visit?
If so, any recs for B&Bs or Inns? (I don't want to stay in Busch Gardens).

Thanks!! :)

Re: A few days in Williamsburg?

  • I decided to move to VA and when i was considering it I contacted the tourist website and they sent me all kinds of great info and maps. They also included a b&b directory, historical maps, ect. Just look up their website (i lost my harddrive so i no longer have it book marked) and go from there!
  • If you like shopping the outlet mall in Williamsburg is great.
  • Have you posted this on DC area board?  I frequent that one also and more ladies can shed insight.  :)

I personally think it is.  I love Williamsburg. I have not spent the night in Williamsburg in a long time so I do not have any off hand recommendations as far as accomodations go.

It is about 3-4 hours out from DC depending on traffic conditions and which way you take.  Williamsburg is off of I-64 so you can get on 295 to get back on 1-95 that way (I think...)  DH and I used to stop in Williamsburg for just a few hours to go to the bakery in the colonial part - I always get a gingerbread and a rootbeer!

Have fun - both DC and Williamsburg are beautiful in the spring!

  • I live in Williamsburg.  It's cute.  There's a lot of "history" type things to do.  Colonial Williamsburg is here, Jamestown, you can drive the Colonial Parkway down to Yorktown, etc.  There's a ton of B&B's around but I don't know much about them.
