So I got up this morning and got ready for work only to be told to pack my things after being in the office for 2 hours. I knew this day was coming, but I was hoping it would come while on maternity leave. Who is going to want to hire someone who is 27 weeks pregnant? ::sigh::
Re: Got my pink slip today.
Oh, I'm sorry. You are right...if only they could have waited until you were on Maternity leave...would have been so much better. What about going to a temp agency and getting some temporary work that way.
Sadly, you are right, no one will hire you at this point. I think the temp route might be your best option to get you by until baby comes.
My thoughts are with you....
Oh my goodness! I'm sorry to hear that. Allthe EDD paperwork I've read is confusing.
I'll keep you in my thoughts. I truly hope things work out for the best for you. *hugs*
I'm sorry you got your pink slip and I hope everything works out for you in the end.
sign up for EDD.
IT seems confusing, but its actually not. Its just a TON of paperwork.
I had to do it a few years ago, I'm my check was very close to my normal paycheck. It helped me get by until i found a new job.
good luck!
I'm so sorry!
I was laid off while I was pregnant with Michaela and it was impossible to find a job at that time. I ended up going with the temping route and was still able to collect partial unemployment because I was making under the limit. I rode that out until it was time for me to go on maternity leave and collected disabilty until it was time to go back to work after she was born. I then went back with a fresh start and a no longer pregnant belly and found a job in no time. Good luck!
