Memphis OBGYN?

I am moving to Memphis and need an obgyn ASAP (see ticker!). I have a nice long list from the insurance company, but its so hard to know. I prefer a woman dr, or all-women practice. Any recommendations? I will be living in Lakeland. TIA!

Hey! I live in a part of Cordova that basically touches Lakeland so we're practically neighbors! Well the general rule of thumb in Memphis is to go the Baptist Hospital route. I can only offer Elizabeth Riseling but I have only been to her once and she was actually through St. Francis. My insurance has now changed and although I had no problem with her, I will go through Baptist now. Sorry I'm not much help but that's all I've got!

MrsC - when you say to go through Baptist, what exactly does that mean? My health ins is through Baptist, so anyone I choose in my network will deliver there, but are there specific drs that have their practice at the hospital? i'm confused.

I've just always been told to go with a doctor that will deliver at Baptist or is associated with its Women's Center. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you.

Dr. Judith Williams with Adams Patterson ObGyn is who I found and really like! She actually met me in her office before my first visit so we could go over everything! I haven't had a DR do that before or since!

 

She is out in Germantown and at the Baptist East I believe.
