Hawaii girls ...

OK, so do any of you have curly, frizzy or curly/frizzy hair? My hair is ridiculous, (think Monica on Friends when they went to Jamaica I think it was) and I'm not sure how to handle it. I just don't want to walk around with my hair pulled back in a bun for 10 days. Help please?!?!

Re: Hawaii girls ...

  • my hair is naturally VERY wavy/frizzy.  My solia straighter is my best friend when anywhere humid, although my husband does get annoyed when we are on vacation because I am constantly restraightening it after it frizzes back up.
  • This is the exact reason i am so thankful for my japanese straightening perm! When we HMed in Hawaii i had to have my haired pulled back the whole time...even after i straightened it it would fizzy...i didnt want to spend my whole vaca fussing w/my hair...when i got back i made an appointment to get it permanently straightened

ooo I am jealous you had that done!  I had a coworker who has very curly hair and she did the japanese straightening treatment.  It looked AMAZING!  I bet it looked great on you and made getting ready a whole lot easier!

  • Thanks ladies! Krista, I have 3 straightening irons, and I'm sure I'll use them constantly in Hawaii. The only problem is, 5 minutes after I do my hair, it's going to look like I didn't do anything... Oh well.

Cyndi, do you like it? I've thought about it, but I've heard mixed reviews.  A few people said it grows out real fast and isn't worth it, others said it flattens your hair out too much. WHat do you think????

  • Good luck with the hair situation! Even my naturally pin straight hair was frizzing. I just gave up! What about hats? I wore one all over maui to help protect my skin while in the convertible.
