(#) Tuesday check in

How's it going for all y'all? Last night I finished up week 3 of C to 5k and it went well. Knock wood, but I heart C to 5k and am actually enjoying running for once. The longer the runs get, the better I feel afterwards, and I feel like I've accomplished something since I could never run before, like, at all. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself!

Not working out today, but will start week 4 tomorrow!

B: oatmeal, v8

L: morningstar burger w/ brown rice

S: carrots, grapefruit

D: chicken paprika

Re: (#) Tuesday check in

  • Good for you!  Sounds like you're doing great!

    B: Nutrigrain Eggo waffles

L: Tuscan bean soup and veggie chips

    S: V8, apples

D: No idea - depends if my class is canceled for the weather or not.  We're having our first snow!

Probably no Wii Fit tonight as I have class (probably).  I've been pleased with my progress, though.

  • Good to hear it, Brookles! I am very much looking forward to getting back to running. I'm hoping that I can do it after vacation. Stupid below zero windchills.

Good news is that even though I felt really bloated yesterday afternoon, I still showed a 2-pound loss at my weigh-in!  And I met my 5 fruits/veggies goal yesterday. I went swimming today (15 laps), so I met that goal; and I went to the store to exchange my blueberries (they were moldy) for some pineapple so I can meet my F/V goal again. Woohoo!

B: banana, milk w/ instant breakfast

    S1: yogurt, granola, pineapple

L: office lunch outing, so either a shrimp sandwich or rice & beans with plantains, depending on the restaurant

    S2: clementines, string cheese

    D: chicken tortilla soup

  • Le sigh.  I wish I could run!  I had gotten to the point where I could actually run a few miles, something I had never done in my life, but with this back, I dont' think running is in my future again :(  I am going to leave at 4pm today and hit the gym, since I stayed at work way too late last night.

    B: oatmeal, skim milk

    S: banana, skim latte

    L: apple, chicken tamale pie

    D: beef stew

  • Brookles, I am feeling the same way about couch to 5k, it is the most awesome exercise regime ever.

I started week 3 today.  I hadn't read what the workout was before I went, so when she said to jog for 3 minutes, I actually said "3 minutes...fvck!" out loud on the track.  Good thing there were no kids around.  I totally did not think I'd be able to last, but not only did I do it, I made it all the way around the track (1/4  mile) in the 3 minutes.  So not a bad pace.  I was really amazed with myself for being able to do the whole workout.

    Anyway for food today:

    b- yogurt and a banana

L- Soup, I think.  Not sure yet.

D - leftover pot roast and veggies

For snacks...a pear, and probably crackers and cheese

  • Congrats on the loss, bridey!

And soprano -- I don't mean to rub it in about running, so I hope you don't take it that way. :-)

Yay, glad you're having success with it. Isn't week 3 way better than the previous 2?

I can't wait to try running outside. I hope the transition from treadmill to outdoors isn't too difficult.

So much better.  Fewer intervals means it goes by faster.  Smile
