Happy Tuesday!

How did everyone's night go?  Any big plans for today?

I finally went to the doctor yesterday afternoon and I have a sinus infection.  He gave me some antibiotics to take for 14 days (since I just saw him a month ago for the same thing - so he doubled the dose) and Tussionex for the insane couging that keeps me up at night.  The issue I'm having with the antibiotic is that you can't take it at the same time as a vitamin/mineral supplement and you cannot take it within 2 hours of dairy products.  Fun...I pretty much have some sort of dairy all day (from breakfast cereal to my skinny cow fudge bar before bed) and I take a vitamin every morning (thanks to my borderline anemia).  So...I've given up my fudge bars for the next 2 weeks and will take it at bedtime.  The Tussionex is chock-full of codeine and I thought would knock me right out - but it didn't, nor did it help the cough.  So I did the only "sane" thing I could think of at the time (with several nights of not sleeping) and kept taking more...and more...yeah...I finally fell asleep HARD...I woke up at one point to Sarah's crying (apparently is was the 3rd time she'd woken up - DH had taken care of the other 2) and I could hardly walk when I slid out of bed.  Note to self...take the prescribed dose about an hour before bedtime.

DH is taking Sarah to the doctor this morning to have her checked out, especially after she was up most of the night crying and coughing.  Hopefully they can give her/us something to help her out.  The poor thing...Gotta love daycare!  :-)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Re: Happy Tuesday!

  • Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Lori! Are you staying at home today? Hope you and Sarah feel better!

Last night I stopped by Target to pick up some goodies for a Valentines Day care package I'm making for my sister in college. I remember I use to envy the kids in college that got care packages from their families. I'm trying to mix it up every year with a different holiday, last year I sent her a halloween one and she loved it. I definitely won the cool big sister award with her and her friends Big Smile

Other than that I caught up on my shows and tried to go to bed but sadly had another fitfull night of sleep. I didnt want to take Tylenol PM 2 nights in a row but now I wish I had.

  • Lori - Hope you and Sarah feel better very soon.

I have the most uninteresting life. I never have anything interesting to post on our good morning posts. I went to the gym last night, DH brought dinner home for me, did some dishes, and relaxed. Today working, dentist appt, and nothing else.

  • It's pretty quiet around here today.

Sorry sick Lori. Careful with that codine! Although a drug indused coma probably felt good after several nights of not sleeping. :)

Noosh, care packages are the best. I need to start putting one together for my brother.

Don't worry Sher, I think I'm more boring than you. After work I sent to school, got home about 10:15, and crashed out. The most interesting part of the night was the failed Starbucks run between classes. The line was so freakin long there was no way we'd make it to our next class in time if we stayed. That made the last class extra hard to get through.

  • Update on Sarah - she has a sinus infection AND bronchitis!!  I feel so horrible!  I thought it was just the same cold that all of the kids at daycare have...I could just kick myself for not bringing her in again (she was seen last Wednesday and they said it was just a virus - nothing they could do).  It's good we got her in today...she's on 3 different meds for the next week.  The poor thing!

  • Oh poor little girl! I hope she feels better soon. Sad Don't get down on yourself. You can't take her in for every little cold, and you just had her in, so you couldn't have guessed it was that bad.
  • Awww, poor Sarah- I hope she (and you) feels better soon! Not your fault- you took her in last week- who would have expected the cold to turn into bronchitis :(

My night was boring too- I went to a new chirporactor who just did an initial eval (and I am DYING from soreness today so I stayed home from work), then I went to Best Buy and bought a Wii for my mom's birthday- her 50th this year! :) Then I came home and sat on the couch and watched Mamma Mia (again!) and waited for Charles to get home.

Today I've been planted on the couch, not wanting to move- considering ordering pizza so I don't have to cook (b/c Charles works tonight until 10pm :( )- see, boring! :)

  • The big eventful thing in our life is that the hot water pipes are leaking and so the hot water is shut off. This explains why the shower I took last was so cold that I got out of it before even getting the shampoo all rinsed because I was shivering.

    ?

Amy came over today and did newborn photos of Lukas. Aw. She got some great photos and I'm really excited to see the final product. (Thanks Amy!)?

    ?

Now Lukas is wide awake and I'm hoping he'll take a nap so I can take one, too. :)?

  • Oooh hot water outage is tough! Hope it gets fixed soon! And YAY for newborn photos! I can't wait to see them! :)

  • Does anyone take the 10w to work through Claremont? I work out in La Puente and take the 10 everyday, which normally takes me about 45 min. It took me an hour and a half today! There was a motorcylce accident in Claremont/Pomona that closed 2 lanes and backed it up through Ontario.

I called my vice principal, who also lives out here, and she was a mile ahead of me on the freeway. We were both over an hour late for work. I missed a big chunk of my first period class and one of the counselors had to teach for me. Thankfully my kids have essays due on Friday, so she just had them work on those until I got there.

    Crazy morning.

Is it bad that I've lived in LP for 19 years and I've never been to Snap-E Taco? And if it's by In-N-Out, then I worked at half a dozen schools out there for three years, even. :(?

  • Blaire which schools did you work at? I teach at Sierra Vista.
