Baby shower ideas

Hey girls...

My baby shower is fast approaching.  I need some help though.

My family/freinds are giving it but they want me to pick out my decorations and tell them how I want it to look.  I am having a hard time coming up with ideas.  I am doing purple/green as my theme.   I was thinking purple table clothes on the food table and maybe gift table.  I would like centerpeices on each table but there are ALOT of tables so I need cheap ideas.  Of course we will have the cake too so that is a decoration in itself.

For my BIG baby shower we had a diaper cake as a center piece, and my wonderful grandmother looked on the internet and learned how to make flower arrangements out of baby socks. She did like four or five baby sock flowers with greenery in a small fish bowl. Sorry I am not describing very good but it was cute.

One of my friends just told me about a shower that she went to. The theme was books. Everyone was asked to bring their favorite childrens book along with their gift. I think it's such a cute idea. They had books as centerpeices and the invitations looked like library card. You can use any colors you want with this I would think. It would be a great way to build your baby a small library of childrens books.

My MIL and SIL are throwing a "tea party" baby shower for me in March, where everyone orders their own type of tea and gets their own little teapot, flowery teacup and saucer and we'll have "tea time" type finger foods.

  Not sure about the details other than that, but I thought it was cute.
