Jon & Kate+8 have some competition!

I just saw on the news that a woman in California gave birth to 8 babies yesterday.  The newscaster said they had to look up what they would be called - Octuplets, I believe is what they said.  I couldn't even imagine twins, let alone 8 babies....holy crap.

They repeated several times that the woman wanted to remain anonymous and the Dr. wouldn't "confirm or deny" the use of fertility drugs.  I think the fertility drugs are a given, but I wonder how long the anonymity will last???

Re: Jon & Kate+8 have some competition!

  • I agree about the fertility drugs being a given.  Humans aren't designed to have that many kids!

  • I heard about that too. I think I heard that all babies were between 1 and 3 lbs! I can't imagine how big her belly was!!!

  • So funny that you made the connection to Jon and Kate.  When we were watching the news this morning, DH said the same thing.  I seriously can't imagine thinking there were 7 and then finding out you had 8 babies when you were delivering.

  • I was totally thinking the same thing about J&K having competition! ?Too funny. ?I'm not sure how long the anonymity can last, given that word is bound to get out at some point, but I sincerely hope that the mother and father of these babies won't use them to get a TV show.

  • Eight babies is a LITTER.  A LITTER of people.  Not natural, no way, no how.
  • one word - irresponsible

not just on the part of the parents but also the doctors
