As most of you know I was laid off in November and as an act of desperation I took a position with a very small company the same month. Turns out this company was hell and very disorganized. Ex: I found a book full of checks that were never posted, because they were short paid. He never called the customer to question them and wondered why the receivables were so bad (these checks were from feb-nov). He also wanted to take taxes out of my check, but said he was not going to report them to the IRS for 2008. Another problem was the parking situation, this became a real big problem the second week.
My car was backed into by another company?s truck and messed up the whole left side of my car. I had an inch of luck that made the person who hit me actually leave his name and number. The following week I was fired from the company, because I was not a ?team player?. During my lunch break I was trying to contact the insurance about my car and the company phone rang, I did not answer it. A few minutes later the owner called and asked if anyone called. I notified him of the missed call and let him know that I was trying to take care of the insurance for the accident (before he left I had told him I was taking a lunch). After yelling at me on the phone and hanging up he stormed in the office to tell me he decided I was not a team player. WTF, I was happy on one side and angry on the other side. This was the first time I had been fired and under these circumstances were really hard to grasp.
So here I was again unemployed, sitting on my bum and it was the week of Christmas. I did have a wonderful Christmas with my family and my new hubby. Then next week I got really sick and with no medical insurance I looked towards Medical MD Website. The website was really helpful and it showed that a high fiber diet would help me. I then was rushed to an interview from an agency that I knew little about, but once again in desperation to get out of the house. This time it turned out to be a good company and I got an offer on Dec 31 for the position as a temp to hire. It made my New Years a little better even though I was drinking mostly cranberry juice (no alcohol per medical md).
The latest, I sent my resume to a very prominent entertainment company in December and they finally started interviewing. I have been on my second interview already and I?m just waiting on the final word. I really hope that this goes well for me and even if it doesn?t I?m happy with the temp job (hopefully will become permanent) I have. I have also finally got the okay from the insurance company to fix my car!
All of this happened within a 2 month period and I have been a very busy lady. I miss coming on here, but hopefully it will slow down.
Hope everyone is well!
