School is closed where the nanny-babies' mommy works, so I am home today!
I've got plenty to do around the house, so it works out well.
And I'll be able post here!
Anyone else home today?

Re: Snow Day!
Blogs: Our Growing Family - CT Working Moms

I'm at work...but I'm hoping we may get to leave early.
Brit I was going to page you today anyway...so let's chat. I've missed you around the board. Catch us up on your life. What are the kids like that you nanny for? How's the apartment coming along? What else is new?
Yes, let's chat! Here's the (long) update!
The nanny babies are good. They are now just about 9 mos and just shy of 2.5. The baby is alllmost crawling - he gets on all fours and rocks back and forth before giving up. And the older is starting to show a lot of imagination, regularly pretending to be a turtle or a puppy, which is really cute. We go to storytime at the library and the bookstore and go to this neat gym class type thing where the 2y.o. gets to climb on all kinds of things and jump on a trampoline. It'd definitely a challenge with them being so close in age - but now I joke with C that when we have just one (...knock on wood!) it's going to seem so easy, haha!
The apartment is really together at this point - I have pics in my nest bio. The only room with work left is the bedroom, and it's minor. I have white sheers to hang under the blue panels I have on the windows, and have re-thought the placement of the pictures that are up, which I want to fix, and add a couple more.
But things are pretty darn good! C's new job did not turn out to be all we'd hoped for, so we're dealing with some negative stuff there, but luckily my job balances it out some. It's so great to get home so much earlier than I used to and have more time to devout to errands and our home, especially when C is stressed/busy with work.
I'll have a good $$ update of my own soon, as we have one more payment to make before our cc debt is gone!!
How are you? How is the new job going?

The babies sound like a lot of fun (and work too). Sometimes I stop by the daycare here at work just to get a baby fix. :-) A few local nesties are all in the tww and I'm hoping hoping hoping someone will get a BFP so I'll have a baby nearby to play with.
The apartment looks great! As for the things left to do, there will always be things left to do. Just when I thought K and I had agreed to no more house projects until summer we went out and bought a new front door. Yes, it was needed, but still. Now it has to be painted and I'll probably re-screen the screen door. It never stops, but I'm begining to actually enjoy some of the projects.
Sorry to hear C's job isn't what she had hoped for. Will she be sticking it out awhile longer or looking elsewhere?
My job is going well. I like the people and the atmosphere. I need to get my butt in gear on a few things and will soon. It's a matter of learning how to navigate some of the politics around here and I've been avoiding it. But overall the place is great and the benefits are really good.
I think we need to have a gtg soon...well maybe once the snow melts :-)
Everyone is always welcome in CT

Glad to hear the job is going well, as I learned at my last admin gig - you can't put too much importance on atmosphere, it makes such a difference!
As for C, for professional reasons, she'll be hanging in for a bit and soaking up everything positive that she can from it. The change she made was from public accounting to corporate, so now she's learning what the difference between the two really is, and which one is going to be for her in the long run. It was the perfect time in her career to do it, and a curiousity she wanted to explore - so, if nothing else...now she (we) knows
The projects sure do keep on keeping! We've been meaning for like month now to shrink wrap our windows to keep the heat bill down - still hasn't happened!
We should definitely do a big group gtg soon!

I'm up for CT. I was going to invite ya'll out here for my b-day but it falls on a weekday, and the Saturday following is Valentine's day. That plus the fact we could very well all be under a few feet of snow made me re-think that idea.
