Does anyone know of any new mommy/mommy groups in the area? My LO is almost a month old and I am starting to feel a sense of isolation from the world. tia!

Re: new mommy groups?

  • What area of LA are you in? I noticed your EBF. There are a couple of BF support groups that I now if in the valley.

  • There are several groups in the LA area but they are all divided by the "town' that you live in. I'm over in Culver/City Palms and I'm part of a group in this area. I know that Santa Monica & Beverly Hills has one. Since we are on this side these are the only one's that I know of.?

You can google mothers groups and you'll find some. But if you post to let us know where you live I'm sure other mom's on the board can direct you in your area if the above doesn't help.?

Good Luck & congrats on your baby.?

  • oh thanks so much! I am actually located in the San Fernando Valley, Valley Village area, so if anyone knows of any in the area, let me know!
  • I know there is a Breast feeding support group that meets at St. John's Hospital (Burbank) in the Baby wise classroom every Wednesday from 10-12. I go to another one led by the same lactation consultant. There is also one at Holy Cross in Mission Hills and at the Valencia Town Center. I think the Burbank one would be closer to you. It is nice because you can meet with mom's and discuss different things. I know it's mostly bf-ing centered, but I have learned so much from it. I don't think that is exactly what you were looking for, but it can't hurt to check it out. I hope that helps a little.

  • I've found a couple through Meetup.com . I would also try LLL meetings and storytime at your local library..even the parks in your area in the mornings. All places mommies hang out :)
