PSA: Vicks Rub warning

I had a FB friend/father warn me not to use Vick Rub...period!  He mentioned scary things like overdose...and it's not true.  I was bothered enough by this and found the following article.

Just wanted to share.  I almost can't believe that I reacted in almost defense of Vicks, but come on!  I think I've slathered this stuff on my kids and used it myself in the last couple of months.  Anyway, here ya go.

Re: PSA: Vicks Rub warning

  • Seriously vicks should not be used on children under 2, that is why there is something called baby rub.

I like it better that regular vicks. I never put it under my nose or J's

    Thanks for the psa.

  • I agree with you Michelle.  I use baby vicks on the girls and on myself, and never in or under their nose.
  • Funny you mention this b/c I had put some cvs brand vicks on my Dd's chest last week and her face turned red and her eyes started to water! I washed it off her and she was fine. This wasn't the first time I had put it on her too! I thought it was really weird.
  • Hey Mia! Maybe Vicks would help me with my breathing issue?
