South Bay Daycare Provider Suggestions?

I know I asked this before but I didn't actively pursue it.  Anyone here have any suggestions for a daycare provider for a 2 month baby in the South Bay?  I am preferring a home daycare but will take center options too.

TIA!

Re: South Bay Daycare Provider Suggestions?

  • www.ccrcla.org let's u search by facility type and zip code

    good luck!

  • Thanks Mia!  I tried that before and unfortunately it didn't have any south bay cities as an option :(  Looks like a cool site though! :)
  • I have used: Future Stars Academy on PCH between Pennsylvania and Cypress. I am currently using for both kids- Harbor UCLA Children's Center on Carson St. right across from Harbor UCLA Hospital. I've had great experiences from both. The only reason I moved my daughter out of Future Stars is because of location. Its just too far from us and my ILs pick up the kids in the afternoon. My 4 year old was already attending Harbor and they just didn't have any opening for my then 9 month old so I used Future Stars until there was a 5 day opening at Harbor. I know 2 family friends who currently have their kids at Future Stars since they were toddlers. I liked Future Stars because they have schedule of activities and teaches the kids sign language too. Price wise: Future Stars is a bit more expensive than the rate I get from Harbor only because in Harbor they are giving me the employee rate due to my MIL working at the hospital. BTW Harbor is managed by Kindercare. Best of luck! IF you have more questions here is my email: mae.gagajena@gmail.com Just place in the subject line you are form the nest so I don't accidentally delete it.
  • I had a much different experience with future stars -- we found that our daughter was left in a swing for much of the day and didn't get much attention.  Maybe it's better when they're a bit older, but we did not like it there, and now have her in a much better center, but it's in downtown LA close to work.  There are lots of options in the south bay -- There's one that's supposed to be really good in san pedro that's affiliated with the YMCA.  I forget the name but if you call the YMCA there they will probably be able to help you.  I think there are several good ones in Redondo as well.
