Does anyone cloth diaper their child?

Just wondering if anyone knew of any local cloth diaper businesses or stores. I know Target sells some but they are very limited in selection. I'm about to start buying and would love to support a local business instead of an online store if I can.

Thx!

Re: Does anyone cloth diaper their child?

  • No kids yet, but when we do have them, I plan to CD. Let me know if you find any place local.?
  • Unfortunately the only cloth diapering service in Central Florida closed its doors about a year ago. They weren't getting enough business :(

  • I think if you go to the Eco Family board someone has a guide or some websites for cloth diapering. I know a lot of people bought them online or found some secondhand diapers. You may want to check with the ladies there, they could point you in the right direction.

And I think it's awesome that you are doing that- I plan to when we start having kids and my mom and dh both think I am nuts!

  • I just realized you said INSTEAD of buying them online.. sorry, I am no help :(
  • I'm sure my friend Emme58 will see this post eventually and point you the right direction to find some dipes locally. They are pretty easy to make, I've made her some for her triplets, but I obviously needed some extra practice. There are TONS of tutorials online if you just do a search for them.

If you need them I can give you some links to sites I've found for the supplies and tutorials. :-)

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Thanks ladies! It stinks that there isn't a local business that does CD's...

Pammies, my dh is actually really supportive of the idea. I did sway him with the cloth savings (especially since we plan on having more children).

MrsCarroll, I've looked at tutorials online and I'm not very savvy with sewing. I think after I buy some I may take a closer look at how they're made and try to make a couple. Fabric is so cheap and it would be awesome to be able to make my own diapers.

    Anyway, thanks again ladies!
