She finally gets it
So K might almost be a Ph.D but sometimes she misses the really simple things. Today she had lunch with a male co-woker who aparently (along with his wife) dealt with infertility issues. They did IUIs for 3 years and then decided they were done. I guess this conversation was like a light bulb for K because she tells me what an emotional roller coaster this couple had...how one day they'd have high hopes then they'd lose it all....and how we should be prepared.
It's the stories I hear here and from friends IRL going through IUI and IVF, but for some reason K just now got it. I just smiled sweetly because I think it's great that her friends are telling her what to expect, but in my head I was just thinking "duh, where have you been?!"
