If someone gave you a grant or money to.....
open your own business.
What type of business would you open?
What would be your business name?
How would you make it special?
Re: If someone gave you a grant or money to.....
This came up at work and it was a fun topic.
What type of business would you open? SPA
What would be your business name? Lovely Ladies
How would you make it special? I would get a liquor license and sell packages with both liqour and lunch. I would have everything, hair, nails and massage. I would also love to have a gym on the second level for women only. I would also hire hot servers and make them where no shirts...:)
I would open the business with my two sisters who are actually are in the spa business.
I've been wanting to open a dog friendly coffee shop. We'd have a special dog bakery section and outdoor seating and a walkup window to make ordering easier on our 2 legged customers. We'd also hold weekly pet adoptions and sell merchandise that would give proceeds to animal rescue. We've tossed around the ideas of ***'s Brew or Java Bones for names.
So far this is just a fantasy for me, but I'd love to make it come true. Our town is so dog friendly already but there are no dog friendly dining options yet.
Hey there! Hope things are well on your end. I've been (along with a few others) have wondered how you've been. Can you Nest while at work during the day? Take care.
My sis and I talked about this. Maybe buy into a franchise, food/dessert related, fun, edgy, trendy...would appeal for a particular location that we have in mind. Our DH's are even on board, but we'd have to have the capital first. Oh yeah that small detail. yikes!
What type of business would you open?
I would open a wedding planning company. I know, I know there are a ton out there, but mine would be extra cool. I love design and fantasize about picking out gorgeous linens, flowers, candles, etc. to make a party ooze class. There are so many gorgeous places in So. Cal for weddings, it makes my heart flutter. (Oh well, went into law.)
What would be your business name?
Elizabeth Anne Events. (My first and middle name)
How would you make it special?
I would create events that are lush, even on a budget. I would spend time to find things that make the party lovely, without breaking the bank. After all, it is just one day in someone's life.
(I used to want to own a bridal shop, but I'm TOTALLY over that.) What I'd love to open is a dessert bakery --I can't name any place locally where you can go in the evening and sit down for just desset (inspiration: Just Desserts, in San Fran.) There would be the same dozen or so offerings every day, and a rotating special, like a seasonal pie or something; plus coffee, tea, maybe get a liquor license so people could enjoy a glass or wine or a port with a big old hunk of chocolate cake.
Name? Um....
It would be special because it would be open late, until 11 or so --that way if a dessert craving hit after dinner, or after a movie, or on a date night, or whatever, there would be a place to go to enjoy something sweet. Plus, it would have tables, so it wouldn't have to be to-go.
Hehe this actually DID happen to me (well, sorta ... my parents helped me buy my business and I'm in debt up to my eyeballs) ...
I own a preschool (center ... licensed for 70 children a day). It's my dream come true ... it's actually the school I went to as a child.
The school is called Plumfield (after Little Women ... it's the name it's always been) ... the legal name is a combo of my first and last names.
We make it special in so many ways ...and all the hardwork is finally paying off!! I try and keep it as homey and friendly as can be. My parents all know me and all of my staff. I also keep it as clean as possible ... the two top things I hear are a) how clean it is and b) how my staff feels like family. What more could a girl ask for!
1. photgraphy business. Just warm cozy shots of your kiddies, babies, adults and all that jazz. I like dark, moody pictures....it's kinda my thang:)
2. my name.
3. I hate that my favorite wedding picture was ruined when someone opted to wear a dress that showed waay to much skin. (she was in the background during our first dance) Since I'm now totally a photoshop cs3-aholic, I love that I was able to edit her dress without compromising the pictures quality. So, basically if I take a picture of you where you might let a bra strap slip, sport a zit or bruise, I can edit that out. I can also make your eyes pop, whiten your teeth, smooth out a wrinkle or two and do this without making the picture look completely over done. Some may call that cheating but when you are paying $$ for pictures, you wanna look good. I know I do:) It's just a little extra somethin' that comes with my pictures.
