I think the washer quit on me today!
I was trying to do the laundry and after 2 loads the washer wouldn't let me pick a cylce. I am pretty sure that this time it is not going to start up again so now we have to go buy a new washer
The only good thing is we will get a front loader!! Any recs?
Re: I think the washer quit on me today!
I'm so waiting for mine to break, although we don't have the money to buy a new one!
My nanny house has front loaders... I don't love them. Unless you get the $150 stands for them to sit on, they are REALLY low to the ground. So my recommendation is to get the stands or be prepared to squat to transfer laundry.
When my washer dies, I will get a front loader on a riser. I currently have a maytag that is about 30 years old. It still works quite well, so I'll stick with it until it gives out on me.
Otherwise,

Anyway, I was saying, I think frigidaire or whirlpool are made in michigan. I like to support michigan products.
So I came home and showed my husband what was going on and this was around 930 pm and the washer started to work again. So we are good for a little but still looking. I know we are getting a front loader but we are looking at LGs because they are getting the best reviews from everyone we talked to.
Luckily I don't think the height will be much of an issue since I"m pretty short but maybe eventually we would spend the money on the stands but for now we are just focusing on getting some new.
i have a front loaded and i really like it. The only thing i regret is that it has a very small drum. We bought our house new, so the builder gave us 3k for appliances, but thats not much when it comes to all the stuff you need. so I knew i wanted a front loaded but skimped on size. sad that i want my 3 yr old washer to break also, just so i can have a larger one!! i have a family of 4 i can't spend all week doing laundry!! haha
I dont have the stands either, it doesn't bother me to get down and put the clothes in.
