ttc wednesday

Thought I would start today.

I am feeling much better this week.  Infact I have felt great the last 2 days!  We are very excited about our ultrasound on friday and telling our parents this weekend.

I am all about daycare of late.  I took my first step and called a daycare provider and set up a meeting.  My friend/coworker uses her and loves her.  She serves only organic food and is a vegan herself so the food served will be really healthy.  She has no tv and takes the kids out for fresh air every day (weather permiting)  She seemed really nice on the phone and doesn't charge for summer which is perfect.  That will really save on the money front.

I can't think of a question of the day so if you have one please add it.

Sam

Re: ttc wednesday

  • K keeps using phrases such as 'when our kid' and our 'our daughter will', which is a new thing for her.  So I'm going to take that as a TTC highlight this week :-)

  • That sounds like an amazing daycare situation!!  Good luck!

My "already have kids" update is 1) I don't know why my kids started thinking that 5:40am was a good time to get up for the day this week (they've done it all week.) UGH. 2) The kids are so excited to go to "Mickey Mouse's House" (Disney) and ride the "elevators and escalators." (Yea, we are traveling 1200 miles for you to ride the same thing you do when we go to the mall.) Silly kids. 3) I am silly excited to go to Disney (I have been dreaming about taking my kids to Disney since before I had kids.) 4) I love that the kids are talking up a storm. They say things that amaze/suprise/amuse us every hour of every day.

  • hahaha I'm pretty amused by the elevators/esclators thing! I hate esclators!

    Sam, glad you're feeling good.

Nothing new here really. We're both temping now. with my more flexible job and C's adoption benefits, I might go first...we're still looking at late 09/early 10 though...

  • I just had my first doctor appointment yesterday. It went really well... the midwife says my cervix looks good and my uterus feels nice and pregnant. :-) Lol. I was thinking it would be boring or not at all reassuring, but I was wrong. It was actually really neat and made it feel a lot more real! I had a ton of blood drawn (for a normal workup) and scheduled my next appointment and first ultrasound. Both will be the first week of March.

This past weekend we also told the ILs our news. They were very excited for us, but it didn't go exactly as we had planned. Trav thought it would be cute to say, "So when are you guys going to Cape Cod, because Megan is pregnant and can't go after the middle of August." Lol. They both had a moment of "huh?" before huge smiles and congrats. Of course then, Trav's mom started yelling at his dad because apparently they had decided on the end of August, but she had really wanted to go in July. Opps! Obviously we didn't realize they had been arguing about that very thing, so I guess we'll see what happens there.

  • i'm super jealous of the disney trip. i've been to the one in cali, but i was so little i don't remember it. i'd love to be able to go!

we're waiting. we test on sunday and i'm trying not to be super anxious about it. she's had no real symptoms of anything--but she's also had none of the regular symptoms of her cycle coming on either. i'm trying not to make too much of that.

  • Great news all around! We were at Disney in December and the entire time talked about the things we will do when we bring our kids there. Have so much fun on your trip!

We are able to test this weekend, so we are unpatiently awaiting that. M is having symptoms however we aren't sure if they are pregagnacy, pms, or stress related. We have found it hard to keep all of this to ourselves so we have told our parents everything. I think they are as anxious as we are!

  • ccbride it is so hard to tell what the symptoms are.  Esp. on the first round.  Will be anxious to hear from you this weekend.  Good luck.

    niiiiice! you guys rock!

our update: we've offically broken the seal on buying baby clothes. I am the proud owner of a few onsies, a nice winter jacket, and the most adorable newborn baseball outfit (sam/brit: when i saw it, i immediately thought of how perfect it would be for my baseball glove picture Wink lol). And much less exciting: A has a bunch of doc appointments set and we'll likely be dropping some $$ on babymakers (aka sperm) shortly...May cant come fast enough!

  • We are in the grueling tww. We decided to go one more round with our ob/gyn and we actually got a great recommendation for a gay friendly RE in our area so if the next cycle doesn't work then we are moving on to him. Testing day looks to be Valentine's day. I don't have high hopes for this cycle but I am excited that we have a real plan now.
