Hey guys! It's been a while since I posted anything... But anyway, I'm hoping to participate in an art show at JSU and I need to be juried in to do so.
Here's the details:
It can be any media, as long as it's on paper.
The largest it can be is the size of a 1 dollar bill, the smallest is if you fold it in half short-ways.
Charcoal is my strong point.
In 2006, I was juried in and I did 3 charcoal peices of people who have influenced the world in one way or another. I did Einstein, Mother Theresa, and CS Lewis. Mother Theresa was juried in.

So anyway... I want to follow in the same train of thought with my submissions this year and do 3 more influential people. Any suggestions? My only qualifier is that I would like to stay away from politics because I feel like a lot of the entries will be focused on that and I would like to do something different.

Googling "people who have influenced the world" I found some people I would want to list. These are a few of my favorites I found Jesus, Shakespeare, Princess Diana, Elvis, Rosa Parks, John Lenon, Mozart, Beethoven, Marie Curie, Helen Keller,Coco Chanel, Katherine or Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Anne Frank.

Erin mentioned a few good folks to do, you could go with a theme, like all influencial musicians, all influencial fashionista's, LOL.
I think MLK would be a great one to add to the list too.

Me too! John Lennon really jumps out at me on this list for some reason.
Ok... anyone have any suggestions for musicians? I have John Lennon and Willie Nelson so far. I would prefer for it to be someone iconic, but not overdone (like I don't want to do a picture of Elvis, for instance)...

You're probably right. I have to be careful about the stuff that jumps out of my subconscious like that =P sometimes it's because I've seen it elsewhere.
