In case you didn't see them, I put a bunch of pictures on my blog: http://meegs1982.blogspot.com/
And today I added a post about what its been like having her so far. Sorry to not repost it here, but I have to get back to her! :-) Hopefully I'll be back to more regular posting next week when I get back to work.
See you later ladies!

Re: Daisy update
she's so cute!! and she sounds like the perfect practice
as for that mid-afternoon whining, it might just be a combo of bored and overtired - we experienced the same thing when we first got lilly and i found that filling that time with a special toy or treat that she doesnt get any other time of the day is helpful. the best for us was a frozen kong...it woudl keep lilly entertained for about an hour, then she'd nap, and before we knew it, it would be time for evening walk, dinner, ect.
best of luck! every week gets easier and easier

Thanks. That's a good idea... and i think you might be right about the bored/overtired thing. And thank you for telling me that every week gets easier. I'm going to save this post so I can read that anytime she's being frustrating. :-)

awww - it does, i promise! I 100% know how it feels to be you right now - we were sooooo there (in fact, when we first got lilly i questioned whether it was a good idea....a lot). but looking back, that phase didnt last long at all and (aside from marrying my wife), getting lilly was the best thing i've ever done. you wont regret it. take every day as it comes and you'll soon see how amazingly rewarding having a dog is
and i wanted to mention that its brilliant that you are practicing crate time now - dont feel bad about it at all because its actually very, very helpful for daisey to get used to her crate before you go back to work.

I'm so glad you wrote that! Now I don't feel like a horrible dog-mommy anymore. :-)
Today is the first day we are trying out a almost regular work day schedule. I got up at my work time, got all ready, and did the morning routine with her. Now she's tucked in her crate and I'm hiding very very quietly upstairs with a drink and snack. Lol. I'll pull her out at 11, an hour before daddy would normally be here to get her... and we have a vet appointment at 12. We'll have lunch and a good playtime when we get home... then I'm going to tuck her back in so that I can do some grocery shopping. After that she'll get a ton of yard time and attention.
I think she's getting used to her crate. She actually went in for me today without having to be lifted in... and besides a little crying when I first "left", she's been quiet! Yay!
