i'm sick. for real this time, not just the weird stuffiness of a few weeks ago. so i'm sitting here miserable at my desk because i have too much to do even though what i really want is to be at home sleeping. but i'm drinking lots of tea, and it's made me think of something from when i was a kid that i'd forgotten about.
my mom used to drink tea a lot (she still does), and she'd put a little milk and a little sugar in it. she'd often drink about half of it while we read on the couch, but the last part of it would get cold. she'd let me drink it, and i just remember it was so sweet and cool and i felt so grown up drinking cold tea and reading with my mom.
Re: so...
sorry you are feeling sick. I hate when I have to work and feel like crap. Drink your tea and go home as soon as you can. Sleep it off that's what I do.
fell better soon
I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Get home soon and get some good sleep.
I love you story though! We were alway a tea drinking household... and I was always allowed the decafinated varieties. But when my mom wanted to do something really special she would make me "english tea." It was just hot water with milk and honey... but it was so nice and sweet and I also felt very grown up drinking it. :-) You know... just the way the English do.
Good luck!

my mom was telling me that when she was little her grandmother (whom i never met) used to make her the same thing. she called it cambridge tea. :-) i thought it was funny that she told me that before i saw your comment, and i had never heard it before!
e, i'm feeling a little better at the moment, although i've been up and down as the meds kick in/wear off. my nose is pretty miserable right now. i think i'm going to try to take off early today if i can.
