newbie, just wanted to say HI

I've been lurking the Knot for the past 10 months, and finally decided to check out the Bump.  I've lurked the "getting pregnant" board, but was excited to see there's a local board.

 About me:

I'm 30yrs old.  I have a 6yr old son from previous marriage.  I am getting married 4/4/09.  In August, we decide we wanted to start a family asap (we want the kids out of the house by the time we're 50, so I only have two years to get the baby making done, haha).

I was on Depo for the past 3 yrs and it ended in October.  I was never told that Depo can cause fertility problems in the first 6-18 months after use.  I had used it prior to having my son and I got AF as soon as the Depo ended and was pregnant the next month, so I panicked this time when I found out the problems it could cause.  I have been charting since the Depo ended, hoping to notice a change in my body and more importantly O.  I haven't gotten AF yet, so Dr put me on Provera last week.  I'm crossing my fingers that it works.

Anyone else use Provera before?  Anyone else use Depo prior to TTC?  I'm excited to be able to talk to other women who have been in similar situations.  FH is wonderful, but ovulation isn't his favorite conversation topic.

  • I took Provera once to start AF again and I've gotten AF regularaly every month since then.  GL! & Welcome.
  • Welcome.  Sorry I can't help.  When I went of depo I was still not trying to get pregnant.  I had just been on depo longer then the 3 year max.  GL

  • I have no advice, but just wanted to say welcome!!! It's nice to meet a new nestie!
  • Welcome and good luck TTC.  I don't have any advice.  I was on Depo about 10 years ago, but switched to the pill because I swear Depo gave me weird mood swings.
