Anyone gotten theirs back yet? We should have ours by Friday and we're paying off all of our debt!! I'm so freaking excited and I keep checking our bank acct to see if it's hit yet, and nothing.. I'm ready to call the credit card companies and pay these off.
Re: Income Taxes?
we're waiting for our 1099 from our property management company. they emailed us one, but it won't print correctly. so a hard copy was mailed to us. should be getting it in the next day or so.
congrats on getting those cards paid off!
Did ours last night and we are getting back more than last year if the state of California ever pays us!
Its going straight into savings and if we get the state refund back by the start of June, that will be our vacation money.
Ours are done...just waiting for a refund...
a note about CC payoff. Don't close the cards down or it will actually drop your credit score because of your debt ratio. We did this last year and our score dropped a lot...when we thought it would go up. Then I saw a thing on Oprah with Suze Orman and she said the same thing....keep the credit available and just pay it off to improve your score...
Good point, however, now many CC companies are dropping your CC limit signifigantly if you've paid it off buy aren't using it. I had a HUGE limit dropped by WF because of this, and apparently it's becoming alot more common (which affects credit reports negatively-yuck)!
Learning to start all over again... Blog
Ack! That is not good either. I have the Suze Ormon 2009 Book...Let me go look at it a little closer and see what she says about that.
