san diego nestie w/ a question

my ILs have a layover this saturday @ LAX from 10:30am until 3pm.  we're coming up (w/ the pup) to see them.

where do you recommend for eating & hanging out until their flight?  we're open to leaving the airport, but want them back by 2pm.  is this possible w/ traffic?  or do you suggest staying @ the airport & eating @ a restaurant there?  we'll have our yorkie w/ us, so dog friendly places would be great.

thanks for the help!

Re: san diego nestie w/ a question

  • try Uncle Bill's, on Highland Ave in Manhattan Beach. You'll be about 15 mins south of the airport, and they have an outdoor patio where you can have your dog. Their food is great (I love the breakfast wraps) and the cofee is decent. It's near the beach so you can stroll around after brunch until your folks have to get back for their flight.?
The only thing is it gets REALLY busy on weekends, so you'll want to allow up to a half-hour, 45 min wait (just in case!)?

    HTH!
  • I wouldn't leave the area - you could get stuck in traffic.

I don't think you can bring the dog, but I heard that Encounter is open again at LAX.  http://www.encounterlax.com/

It's a huge space-ship like restaurant that rises above the center of the airport.  I ate there once.  It was pretty good.  You can see the planes landing.
