JOB DESCRIPTION: Client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Director of Accounting & Finance with a background in the electric utility industry. You will need a BS Degree in finance, accounting, or taxation and 12+ years of professional accounting and financial management experience, with a minimum of seven of those years in management. Masters degree preferred, CPA is desirable. Experience with an electric utility or related system with a thorough understanding of the RUS (Rural Electric Service), utility billing and utility rate design is preferred. You should have a thorough knowledge of principles and practices of governmental accounting and fiscal management; laws and ordinances governing cooperative accounting. Budgetary planning and control; financial reporting; and maintenance of financial records. You will be responsible for providing strategic and operational management of the Accounting & Finance unit to include the general accounting, consumer accounting and finance operations in an effective and efficient manner in order to achieve corporate objectives and policies.
