I'm terribly bored by drama on the internet, so I thought I'd share the highlight of my day.
We picked our roll company for the shop. The delivered samples to our front door this morning and I enjoyed them. Now I have about 2.5 dozen rolls left over after trying one size, dh trying one, and the dogs stole a french baguette. Oh the little things that bring me joy.
Re: We picked a roll
Haha that is one random highlight of the day and I love it!
I can't wait to visit your little sandwich shop when I am down the shore.
mmm rolls...
I'm looking forward to visiting your shop Deanna!

I agree...the roll can make a sandwich! Congrats on getting one more task done off of your to do list (I'm sure it's long).
I can kind of relate, I get just as excited over finding the perfect paper and ribbon LOL.
We went with Aversa's Italian Bakery. They were the closest to what I was looking for with a harder outside and soft inside. Their rolls are tasty, but don't overhaul the contents of the sandwich.
Thanks again for all the congrats. I'll be sure to set up a GTG after the summer at our place or atleast contribute a hoagie platter to one.
Thanks! It really just happened over the course of 2 weeks. We will be in Stone Harbor between 96th and 97th streets behind the movie theatre. We hope to have our keys by the end of this week, early next week and be in there renovating every day till we're done. We are going to do a soft opening throughout the spring, then go full ahead come May/memorial day. Being that SH is a seasonal town, we will be there constantly all summer long, and cut back in the off season, probably close down for January and February. I've always wanted a place of my own and it is already rewarding just from being able to make the menu, pick out the paint colors, and pick out the rolls.
Krista, I could call in for another "sample" order for next week and bring over some fresh rolls for everyone. They are really really good. I'm trying to lay off breads, but no luck.
