can anyone recommend a great seafood restaurant. my husband LOVES seafood...especially mahi mahi...and we want to go to one for valentines day but not sure where to go. we really want to go to a place we haven't been before...so not a big chain restaurant. being new here i am not sure where to go. any suggestions?
Re: restaurant question
Here are a few we tried and liked:
1. Boathouse in Coronado:

2. Isand Prime is ok, but we consider it more of a chain since it's part of Cohn restaurant group and all their restaurants seem to have similar tasting food:

3. The Steakhouse at Azul in La jolla. While it's a steakhouse, they do have seafood. DH had the ahi tuna and loved it.

jake's in del mar is really yummy!

Not a seafood eater at all BUT I would recommend that you dont try a new restaurant on Valentines Day. Most of the nicer restaurants in San Diego have set menus for Valentines Day and they try to turn over tables as quickly as possible. We have a family friend who has her bday on vday and she always wants to go out and then complains because they rushed the meal and it was overpriced.
