So, it is almost here and of course it is raining. Should we attempt to go on Sat or wait until another time? It is my sisters birthday and she will get in free, but the rest of us will be paying $61 (except for Katie) to get in. My mom said that she will buy my sis a ticket if the weather is too yucky to go so we can all go on another day. The tickets we got are good any day from now to June-so there is plenty of time.
The weather says it is supposed to be "cool with showers possible and thunderstorms possible".
On a good side, I know there will be less people there and I think it is the tail end of this storm and may only be "showering" in the morning.
Ugh! I just would hate to pay that much for a miserable time...
Matt and I did go a few years ago for my birthday (which of course it rained) and had a blast, the park was so empty....but it is different with a little one.
Re: Should we even try? Re: Disneyland
Julie...it might be best to wait and go another day. I say this because, I love you and because we did Dland and rain with the girls once, it was hard. Not impossible, but hard. Standing in line for most of the rides is done out in the open and no strollers in line. Even tho we had umbrellas, we ended up carrying the girls and holding on to umbrellas and it was bit hard on our backs, shoulders, etc.
Walking thru the park was no problem, you have the strollers and if you have the canopy cover or figure how to put the umbrella on it, then it's great. Also eating is ok, since you can find indoor, sit down places to get out of the weather.
Fireworks may or may not be cancelled too.
Just think about it.
I totally know what you mean. At the time we went in the rain, we had passes and we went to really only check out the new Nemo ride.
For Jocelyn & Natalie's very first visits, we did have expectations to conquer the park, just It's a Small World, a parade, maybe fireworks. We did however got passes that day, or already had them, so we didn't rush the visit or overdo the girls.
i'd go, personally. i'd bundle up the bean, put extra clothes in a backpack for everyone and stick it in a locker, and finally get to use the rain guard on the stroller.
the thought of less people at the park is a huge perk. ?nothing's better than a non-crowded disneyland.?
The most fun I've had at Disneyland was going in the rain. I've done it several times. I don't mind getting wet.
The lines are very short. There are very few young children. You basically have the place to yourself.
The downside is that some of your favorite rides and food places may be closed.
I've made the mistake of riding Splash Mountain on a rainy day...we could not get dry for hours!
If you're bringing a little one...just play up how fun it is to play in the rain...they'll get over being wet.
I was there today when it started raining. Thank goodness we had no kids - it was just me and Dh. I felt bad for the small kids that were there since it was so cold and wet.
I do hope that Saturday free of rain.
Julie,
I would go. I go rain or shine. And yes, I have taking J-man in the rain and had no problems. You just have to plan for it and you will be fine.
I'd go too. I was just there on Superbowl Sunday thinking it would be less croweded and it was so stinkin' crowded it was not a whole lot of fun.
Is it the most ideal situation, no, but as long as you go prepared, you can make the best of it. There are plenty of places to duck and cover if the rain really starts coming down.
