Westin Hotel Weddings

I'm having my wedding there in a few weeks.  I was just told that i cant split my bar package into segments, say 1 hr cocktail at 6 pm and 3 hrs from 9 to 12 am.  Per Westin, I have to use the 4 hrs consecutively.

Were you able to split yours?

Re: Westin Hotel Weddings

  • i'm not much help~ we had an open bar.  i just didn't want you to feel ignored.  :)

    enjoy your wedding day!

  • I do not mean this in a rude sort of way....you need to read the contract that you signed with the hotel. That is how it has to go down on the day of your wedding. If it does not specify, have it put in writing. I have a degree in hotel management and if it is not in the contract or in writing (letter, addendum etc)...it is not really good. Obviously, there are things like implied or verbal contracts, but those dont really mean much unless you can prove them. If you have a question about interpreting your contract, I can look at it for you...
  • Did not get married at a Westin but I did have an open bar.  I would recommend stopping your bar an hour before the reception ends.  We did our bar from 7pm-11pm- Cocktail hour started at 6:30 but we did champagne for that.

I have been to events where the bar was split up BUT only because cocktail hour was in a different location than the rest of the reception.
