My vent for today...

Is people who send their kids to school when they are clearly sick.  I fully understand that sometimes it's hard for parents to keep their children home from school, especially working parents who have to arrange for childcare.  But when you send your sick kid to school, all you're doing is getting every other kid in that classroom sick.  Kids are dirty.  Kids have little to no common sense.  Kids spread germs like nobody's business.

Thanks to these inconsiderate parents, in the past two months we have all had multiple colds, a stomach virus and now I'm sitting here with pink eye in BOTH eyes.  God help us all if the H gets it.  He was already bad enough when he got the cough, I can't even imagine what his reaction to these cooties will be.

End rant.

Re: My vent for today...

  • Ugh!  When I finally teach, that we be one of mine too!

Pink eye!? That stinks!!  That's highly contaigous right?

Looks like a sick day for you!

I hope you feel better soon!

  • and to add to your vent, it's mean to force a sick kid to suffer at school feeling like crap.

and here's a vent parents who sit on the well side of the dr's waiting room with their sick children

  • Super highly contagious!  My younger daughter got it after 2 other girls in her class had it.  She went back to school and the next day my older daughter and I both got it.  H said he's going to quarantine us.  Hahahahabwahaha.
  • Okay so this haas nothing to do with sick children but I get pink eye like 10 times a year!!!!  I hate it but end up with it all of the time!!!  Prescription drops are my best friends in the medicine cabinet!!

Totally not child related again......but my employer sucks!!!!!  I have been sick since around Nov/Dec and the worst part is that I have 3 weeks of sick pay but my can't use it.  You may ask why I can't use it and I will tell you that I have been written up in the past for using sick time.  For instance calling out sick for migraines, calling out sick for the flu or when my mother was dying....oh I know...such silly reasons to call out sick, right??  Can you imagine if I actually had children and had to stay home because they were sick?  It would be the end all be all here!!!

  • Anna, what kind of drops do you normally use?  I have Polymyxin and I'm not really feeling the love for it.
  • They are at home in my medicine cabinet and can't remember!!  I don't think my cat knows how to read otherwise I would ask her to find out!!  I can let you know when I get home for work.

You amuse me.  What is your problem for having a cat that can't read?  Don't you know all the cool pets can read, duh!

    PS - thanks!

What about those schools with the stomach viruses on tv?

LOL @ cat comment....not really on topic but my FIL was a teacher and when a student didn't know the answer to a question, he's say "that's such an easy question my cat can answer it!"  So, some cats must be able to read/speak/write whatever!!  Wink

Mind you, he has such a kind hearted demeanor the students never found that as insulting.  Smile
