Hey. I just got the Kid's Market info and want to try to get rid of A's baby stuff and my maternity clothes. But, omg. The instructions made my head spin. Tell me it's really not that difficult. I'm sure I'm just having a brain fart...it's been known to happen. Do you get a certain percentage? I didn't see that listed.

Is it earlier than normal this year? I thought it's usually in April.

  • Hey!  It really is not that difficult, but if you've never done it before it certainly seems complicated!  Pretty much, all you have to do is to first get your template.  Did they send you one?  It will have your Contributor # and a bar code on it in 9 sections.  You need to print that from a laser printer and then copy it to cardstock...I usually go to Kinkos and have them do that.  Then, you just cut out the 9 sections...resulting in 9 cards...that you fill out with a description and the price.  Write in black except for items that you do not want to go 1/2 off.  Use red for those items and they will only sell at full price.  Safety pin the card to the upper right-hand (if you are facing it) side of the clothing.  Also, safety pin everything to the hanger...especially if you have more than one piece like pants and a shirt together...  You have to use wire hangers and you have to have the hanger pointing the left.  No stains or tears or they won't take them.  They are very picky about this!  Also, you must seperate everything according to size and bundle them with ribbon, string or rubber bands or something.  Like, if you have size 3T and size 3, those must be seperated.  They are super picky, but you appreciate it later when you are the one shopping, ya know, because then you are looking through a bunch of unorganized crap!  If my memory serves me right, you keep 65% or 70%...I could be wrong about that, but I know you keep more than they get.  Don't forget, if you want to be able to shop early at the Contributors sell, you have to be one of the first people in line for Receiving so you will get a low number which means you shop first.  Or, you can volunteer to work and shop even earlier!  Okay, I hope this helped some!  Re-reading it though seems confusing so I may not have helped at all!  Let me know if you have any more questions!
  • Thanks. No, that helped so much. I read it all on the card they sent but for some reason looking at that it seemed liked a bunch of Greek. I will def. try to get on it so that I don't miss out. It's a shame how much I bought at the fall sale and she hasn't worn it all. :::hanging head:::

  • Do you cosign at Kids Kloset or Klassy kids?
  • I've done Kid's Closet before, but it's much smaller than Kid's Market and I just don't like it as well.
  • Nope. Never consigned with either of those.

  • you both are more brave than I am, Kid's Market scares me.
