suggestions on resources for finding part time nanny/sitter?

I am due in June of this year with my first baby. I am looking for someone to come to my house part time (2-3 days a week) starting in September. I am at a loss on where to even start looking for someone.

Does any one have any suggetions?

Ask around.  See if anyone you know uses someone.  You can also place an ad in a local newspaper.  If you can afford it I would use a service that way you know they had a background check and most likely they have proper certifications to perform CPR on an infant.

However, the easiest way is probably to find another mother that you can trade off with.  But that would most likely mean you would be watching their child from time to time as well.

Contact the early childhood education departments at local colleges (Rollins, UCF, community college, etc) and ask if you can post on their bulletin boards or if they will let you send information to interested students.

I acutally signed up there to babysit on the side and get a little extra cash for our bay fund and I think it'llbe great practice.

If anyone needs a once in a while sitter or on Wednesdays (currently those are my days off) let me know! :-)
