One of my diamonds fell out :(

One of my diamonds on my engagement ring fell out yesterday.  Luckily, we had the diamond bond so it will be replaced and repaired.  The only bad thing is, the woman at the store told me it could take 3 months to get my ring back.  She said it might be a little longer because of V-day.  I was so upset, yet at least it'll be fixed.

Re: One of my diamonds fell out :(

  • Oh no :( Good thing you didn't lose it and it can be fixed though!
  • I'm so sorry, what a bummer. It's a good idea to have the mountings checked at least once a year and most jewelry stores will do this for free. I know that's no help now but maybe it will prevent this happening in the future. You are right, at least it's going to be fixed! When you pick it up make sure you are competely happy with the stone they use and that it's the same quality as the one you lost. I got ripped once many years ago. The stone they replaced looked like glass compared to my other stones and I was never happy with it. I will never forget that and will never let it happen to me again.
  • Oh I would be upset too.  But like you said at least it can still be fixed.
    Siggy coming soon....

Oh yes and this reminds me.  Last August I took both of my rings in to be cleaned, and while the guy was checking my stone he discovered that it was loose so he sent it off to be reset.

That woke me up to realize that I need to start getting my rings check/cleaned at least every 6 months, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to be on the safe side.

Which this also reminds me, I need to take my rings in soon.....

    Siggy coming soon....
  • I'm so sorry!  I'm afraid of that happening b/c I'm so clumsey and tend to knock my ring against things.  It sucks that it will take so long but I'm glad you can get it fixed!   Why will it take so long?  Does it just sit in a safe or something until they can get around to fixing it?  Can't they put your name on a list or something and when they get to your name you can bring it in?  But that's my "in a perfect world" thought...
  • At least in can be fixed.  That is crazy that it could take up to 3 months!!!
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • That sucks! I hate to be without my rings!
