Disneyland trip...what a day!

I posted this in Fenella's post, but I though I would share some pic with you all too...

Ah....Disneyland was a mess.  It rained when we got there (late-at about noon).  We were soaked just trying to get into the park.  Katie was freezing even though we had her bundled up pretty well. I had rain coats and ponchos and they did not seem to really help.

She just did not have a fun time.  She is so independent, she did not want to be in her stroller, did not want to be held and did not want anything to do with Matt and I.  She wanted to run around and play.  We went on the jungle cruise and Ponocchio and she cried because P was scary-I never realized how scary it was....lol.  She wanted to get out of the car on the ride and run around.  She had no patients to wait in line and there were quite a few people there.  Each ride was about 20-30 minutes for the kiddie rides.  Dumbo was a little longer.  Small World was over an hour Alice in Wonderland and the Tea Cups were closed because of the weather.

She had more fun climbing on the planters in the front of the park.  She refused to take a nap until we were on the tram ride back to the car and then knocked out hard.  This was at about 3:30pm.  Matt's back was bothering him so he could not carry her that much.

She did get to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto (who she calls ***).  She cried because she only got a few seconds with each and then was rushed out of the way.  She really liked Pluto and spent most of the day saying "***, war you?" (Pluto, where are you).

Oh well....

Re: Disneyland trip...what a day!

  • Aww I'm so sorry that you didn't have a great time. The pics are adorable though. I can't get Rhian and Reese anywhere near the full costume characters. They're terrified of the masks but don't mind the face characters.
  • By the way...the **** are for Pluto with out the "L".  Pu-to...and sorry for the typos and spelling errors.
  • Ah, sorry about the weather. I'm sure you will only remember the fun times! The pics are cute!
  • Sorry about the rain and the challenges of the day!  The pics are great!  I even like the crying one...broke my heart, but it's ok.  Big hugs to Katie, you and Matt!

  • I was thinking about you guys if you ever did go to Dland.?

Sorry to hear it wasn't much fun but it does make for a memorable first visit. She still is so cute in the pictures especially the crying one-we got to be real. Hopefully next time it will be better weather.?

  • BTW Celeste has the same Sleeping beauty jacket-a Christmas present and she loves it because its so soft. :)
  • I'm sorry Katie didn't have a great time.  We went yesterday, too.  At the time it was raining hard, we were at California Adventure eating at Ariel's Grotto.  Anyway, at Disneyland, Jake loves the Tiki Room and It's a Small World.  Maybe Katie would like those for next time.

If you ever get a chance to go to California Adventure, maybe Katie would enjoy the Disney Playhouse show and the Monsters Inc. Ride.
