Park with playground for B-day party
Any recommendations in the Altamonte/Longwood/Sanford/Winterark/Maitland area?
I want to rent a pavillion or gazebo for my son's B-day party, but I also would like for there to be a playground available for the other kids..
I have checked out a couple, but no luck yet.
Re: Park with playground for B-day party
call the parks and rec department for local municipalities (winter park, etc) and they can help you. it may be easier than driving all over town.
Winter Park has Dinky Dock which is great for a picnic (covered pavillions) but there is not a nearby playground. I'm sure there are more though
The only park that I can think of that has both features that your looking for is Cypress Grove Park off of Holden Avenue in Orlando... fantastic park, pavilions, bathrooms, etc...
I agree with BridalKatie, you can also look up the various cities pages and find a listing of all the parks.
good luck.
We love Derby Park in Sanford. It's $40-60 to rent for the day depending on whether you are a resident or non-resident.
It has a huge covered pavillion with over 20 picnic tables, a small kids playground, a big kids playground and plenty of space for activities and to run around in. You can have a bouncehouse if you want as well.
(Gemini Springs is also very nice but a little bit further.)
Waht about Phelps Park. I can't remember if there was a paviliion there or not though.
Some other parks (although they are not in the area's you listed) are Moss Park, Blanchard Park, Downey Park.
Also there is Secret Park in Casselberry and there is a park in Maitland that is right next to the Maitland Blvd overpass of 17-92 - entrance is off a road that is on 17-92 (can't think of the name of it) but it has a toddler and older kid park and I beleive it had paviliion too. Or there is Red Bug Lake Park.
My friend recently had her 5 year olds birthday party here:
Trailblazer Park/" Lake Mary Splash Pad"
550 Rantoul Ln, Lake Mary, FL
It was pretty nice. They had swings, a big jungle jim thing, a rock climbing thing, and a few other play areas, and a pretty good sized pavilion area.
Its a first come first serve type thing for parties...so you'd have to get there and hold your place if you want it all to yourself. HTH!
Thanks ladies. I did check out Winter Park's site and went to visit a few and went with Phelps Park. It is very nice, and has a few playgrounds for different ages and pavillions. The Howell Branch park which is new is also very nice.
Thanks!
