What is up with this woman? More to the point what is up with her doctors who would assist this woman in having more babies when she cannot afford to take care of the six she already has? She had a litter of children! While I think they are crazy too, at least the Duggars can afford theirs. I guess you know my take on it, what do you think?

I agree! I think it is really sad for the children... completely irresponsible of her and the doctors. She says she is not into government assistance... umm... ok. Adequately supporting fourteen children while unemployed and living with your parents = not possible dude!

I think the doctor should have his license revoked - completely irresponsible.
And I wish there were some ramifications for her stupid actions too - maybe she should have to give a few of them away? (I know that sounds absolutely terrible) but what the hell was she thinking???

I think she has a problem...her mom said something to the affect (or is it effect in this situation...I am not good with that
) that she just wanted lots of children to love. As good as that sounds in theory it isn't practical at all, especially when you are single, unemployed, and living with your parents.
I think the doctor should lose his license for allowing that many eggs to be fertilized, and also for giving fertility assistance to a woman who already had 6 children. I might be a little harsh about the situation but you know that there are thousands of women out there who truly need assistance. I don't think fertility treatments are something that need to be taken lightly.
I have to wonder where she got the money to pay for the IVF. I mean she is unemployed so I'm assuming she doesn't have insurance. Not to mention lots of times insurance doesn't cover much of that anyway.
Also I wonder if she thought of this as a get rich quick scheme? Like did she think she'd get a show like Jon & Kate or the Duggars?

I agree w/all of you. I think this woman is nutso and the therapists/psychiatrists (sp?) that were on dateline (I only saw the info online, not the show last night) stated pretty much she is in a fantasy world.
She said she could provide for her children once she finishes her education - uh woman, how do you think you're even going to go to or afford school!?!?!?! How will you care for and give attn to FOURTEEN freaking children?!?!?!?! How will you even hold down a job with that many kids ensuring they get the care they nee - they are going to have to go to the dr CONSTANTLY?!!?!? uh wake up nutso, you can't. There aren't enough hrs in the day for you do to this as one person. Those kids are going to need constant care, updates to the drs and attn. Later they will need therapy.
I think she "thought" she was deprived attn as an only child and now she wants to just "love" all these kids. WHAT?!!??!!? She should NEVER have been allowed to be given fertility assistance after already having 6 kids. To me, that is for families who have exhausted all efforts and are trying just to have one!!!!!
ugh, I'll shut up now, I'm being judgemental and need to stop. This whole situation is so wrong but I guess I know where my taxes are going now.

I think it is all a publicity stunt, and she wants handouts (from the government or elsewhere), money, a TV show, movie deals, media coverage, SOMETHING out of it! It's so sad for the children, though. I say stop interviewing her because that is exactly what she wants!
I also think she is out of her mind and should have gone under extensive psychiatric evaluation before anyone performed IVF the first time, however many years ago it was!

IF she had had a partner and that was just their perogative (like the Duggars) then that's fine, as long as they are taken care of it's really no one's business. People can do what they want. However, when you take that on ALONE and not working, ?that is not rational, because they CAN'T be taken care of that way. And her parents shouldn't have to take care of her kids, especially if she isn't supporting them..?

Her mother is saying that the father is actually her boyfriend and has wanted to marry her, but she refused because she wanted to have babies on her own.

I completely agree. I think this woman needs to undergo a psychiatric evaluation and that DHR needs to get involved. I'm not saying that the kids should be put in foster care, but somebody needs to ensure these kids are being taken care of.
This situation makes my blood boil, I am so mad about it.
You know, I'll go ahead and be controversial and say it - I know it sounds terrible, but that's the first thing I thought of (after I had the thought that she was doing it completely for a publicity stunt).
I just can't believe that this woman can adequately care for 14 children - 8 of them newborns?? Come on. She may have the best intentions, but when it comes down to brass tacks, she has no job, she lives with her mother - what kind of life is that going to be for these babies? At the very bottom line, they deserve a better life than this. I'm not disputing that she loves them very much, but I'm talking about what kind of quality of life she can offer them.
I know that not everyone is going to agree with that sentiment, but I have several friends that are infertile, and can't have kids, and can't afford IF treatments. It breaks my heart that they can't have kids, but this wack job has 8 at once, on top of 6 she already has? I can think of 3 people right off the bat that would jump at the chance to give these babies a chance at a stable home.
